My favorite Science Fiction movies are "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial ©" and the original "Star Wars ©" trilogy.  When E.T. was re-released for its 20th anniversary, I decided to make an E.T. graphic for use on a note card.

First,  I needed a basic outline.  I searched for hours, but couldn't find a black and white outline of E.T. on the Internet. Then I remembered the 20-year old box of E.T. colorforms sitting in my basement.  I scanned an E.T. shape from the Colorform™ Playset.  As you can tell by the image on the right, Colorform™ outlines are very thick.  But, this at least provided the "jumping off" point I needed.  The E.T. body outline had to be almost completely redrawn to replace the thick line, so while I was at it, the head was also turned to the front.  I used filters and painting to create the texture of E.T.'s body.

"E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial"  is the property of Steven Spielberg and Universal Studios.

Each "Star Wars" character was created from a scanned, black and white outline.  After coloring each one, I assembled them into this group and created the Star Wars logo.  Darth Sideous and Darth Maul are from an "Episode 1" coloring book.  This is the older Yoda, as he appeared in the original "Star Wars" trilogy.  I created him over 7 years ago, and have forgotten the source of the outline.

"Star Wars" characters are the property of Lucasfilm Ltd.
